Dr. Julio C. Fernandez's Obituary
Dr. Julio C. Fernandez, 68 of Methuen, passed away on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at High Pointe House in Haverhill, with his loving family at his side. He was the beloved husband of Minerva A. (Lopez) Fernandez, to whom he was married for 43 years.
Julio was born in the Dominican Republic on November 12, 1949, the son of the late Jose R. and Melida (Camilo) Fernandez. He obtained his PhD in medicine from the University of Autonoma in the Dominican Republic. Julio loved playing the guitar and the piano. He also loved science, but his real passion was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Julio will be deeply missed by his wife, Minerva; 4 children, Inoelia Fernandez, Cesar Noel Fernandez, Erica M. Fernandez, and Aneury Fernandez, all of Methuen; his 5 grandchildren; and his 4 siblings.
Family and friends will honor and celebrate Julio’s life by gathering for his calling hours on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 from 4-8 PM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street, Methuen. His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Thursday at St. Mary of the Assumption Parish, 205 Hampshire Street, Lawrence. Burial will follow at St. Mary/Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Lawrence.
