James "Jimmy" L Madison's Obituary
James L. Madison, 79, of Methuen, passed away on Tuesday October 1, 2024, at home with his devoted family by his side.
Born in Cooperstown, NY, “Jimmy” was the son of the late Raymond and Edna (Yerdon) Madison. He was a graduate of Cherry Valley Central High School, Class of 1963, and Erie Technical Institute in 1966, with an associates degree in restaurant management. Served in the Army at Ft Hood Texas, where he was honorably discharged.
Their life together started at Valle’s Steak House, and then moved over to Norm’s White Horse for over thirty years where Jimmy made lifelong friends. He worked at the Christmas Tree Shops, overnight in the frame department, where he took “extreme” pride in is work.
He was a member at the Pine Valley Golf Course, where he played 7 days a week. On July 2, 2010, he got a hole in one, which was a dream of his. He also loved fishing at Forest Lake in his Grumman boat. Nascar and Whelan Modifieds were his passion. Even dragging his wife, for their anniversary to see over ten tracks up and down the East Coast. Over the past three years, Daytona 500 was the ultimate daddy/daughter trip.
James will be sadly missed, but lovingly remembered by his wife of fifty-seven years, Althea (James) Madison of Methuen, MA, daughter, Jennifer Protasowicki and her husband, Rob of Orlando, FL, granddaughter, Miah, brother, Steve Madison and wife, Adrienne, adored by his God daughter, Stephanie, nephews, Tony, Robbie and Seth. James was predeceased by his sister, Debbie Deyo.
James’ family would like to say a special Thank You to everyone at Tufts Hospice Care. Also, Gladys and Mona from Home Health Care were amazing.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to visitation from 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm on Monday October 7, 2024. A Funeral Service will immediately follow at 5:30 pm in the funeral home.
