Jacqueline R. Bernardin's Obituary
Jacqueline R. Bernardin, 95, of Waltham, MA passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family, on Tuesday, 14 May 2024.
Jacqueline was born in Lawrence, MA on June 19, 1928, a daughter of the late Emile and Lucille (Moison) Bernardin. She was a graduate of Lowell State College (B.A.) and Tufts University (MEd). She began her career as an elementary school teacher in Haverhill, MA and for most of her career was a third grade teacher in Arlington, MA at the Bishop School. Jacqueline was a lifelong musician. In her early years she was an accomplished violinist. In later years, she played the recorder and viol, participating in groups of Early Music both in the Boston area and in the Sarasota-Bradenton area. She was an avid reader and enjoyed attending concerts and plays.
Jacqueline loved cats and enjoyed doting on the many felines that shared her home over the years. Jacqueline cherished spending time with friends and family. She was thoughtful and generous to her loved ones. Jacqueline was a member of St Brigid Church in Lexington for many years until she moved to Waltham, where she joined St. Mary Church.
Jacqueline was predeceased by her brothers, Charles and Paul (OP) and sisters Yvonne and Estelle. She is survived by her dear friend Beverly Char and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Family and friends will honor and celebrate Jacqueline’s life by gathering for a Funeral Mass in Our Lady of Good Council Parish, 22 Plymouth St., Methuen on Monday, May 20 at 10am. Interment, Sacred Heart Cemetery, Andover, MA. There will be no calling hours, please meet at church.
