Donna M. (Houlihan) Sipsey's Obituary
Methuen- Donna M. (Houlihan) Sipsey, 73 of Methuen, passed away on April 4, 2020 after a long battle with MSA (multiple system atrophy). She was born on August 2, 1946 to the late Patrick and Margaret (Barker) Houlihan in Methuen. Donna attended Lawrence High School and graduated with the class of 1963. Later in life, she went on to attend Northern Essex Community College and studied to become a Licensed Practical Nurse. Donna graduated with the class of 1990 and used her studies during her 30+ years of dedicated work at Mary Immaculate Nursing and Restorative Center in Lawrence, where she passed away.
Donna had many joys in life, some of which included going to the beach and being a member of Arnold Greenwood VFW Post #8349, Ladies Auxillary. Most of all, she enjoyed time spent with her family and many friends.
Donna is survived by her loving children; her son Timothy Sipsey and his companion, Amy Tasker, of Methuen, her son Stephen Sipsey of Methuen, and her daughter Jodie Dery and her husband Michael of Dracut. Donna is also survived by her sister Kathleen O’Connor of Methuen and 4 grandchildren, Aaron, Jordan, Katelyn, and Ashtyn, several nieces and nephews as well as her former husband John J. Sipsey. Donna is predeceased by her sister, Margaret Frechette, her brother Thomas Houlihan and her longtime companion Thomas Fairbanks.
Due to the current state of health affairs, all services for Donna will be private. In lieu of flowers, Donna’s family has asked that memorial contributions be made to Elder Services of the Merrimack Valley, Attn: Development Office, 280 Merrimack Street, Suite 400, Lawrence, MA 01843.
