Berthier J Pedneault's Obituary
Berthier J. Pedneault, formerly of Lawrence MA, passed away on Monday, December 2, 2024, at the Nevins Nursing Home in Methuen with his four children by his side.
Berthier was born in Notre-Dame Du-Luc, Quebec, Canada on September 13, 1930, and was the son of the late Philippe and Eugenie (Dumont) Pedneault. Berthier was raised in Canada and worked as a lumberjack prior to moving to the United States in 1963 to make a better life for his family. He began working in the mills in Lawrence, later becoming a construction worker until his retirement.
He married the girl next door from his family’s home, Anne-Marie, and celebrated 56 years of marriage prior to her passing in 2011. He was a hard worker and talented handyman. He loved the challenge of making and repairing everything he could, often times being very creative in doing so, becoming known as the family’s “MacGyver”. Until the age of 92, he lived in his own home and enjoyed cooking his meals and became the master of making home-made beans. He remained adamant about getting on his tractor to mow the lawn, rake and pick up his leaves in the fall and shovel snow. He enjoyed being surrounded by his family.
Berthier was the beloved husband of the late Anne-Marie (Deschamps) Pedneault. He was the loving father of Marise Pedneault of Dracut, Louise Pedneault and her significant other, Marcel Nadeau of Concord, NH., Sonia Almeida and her husband Lambert of Reading, and Daniel Pedneault of Methuen. He was the cherished grandfather of Amy Beaulieu and her husband Shaun Hevey, Evan Beaulieu and his fiancé Cassandra Jensen, Zachary Almeida and his wife Abbey and Hannah Boler and her husband Michael. He was the great-grandfather of Declan Hevey. Berthier was from a family of 12 and predeceased by his sister Lucille and brother Simone.
Funeral Services are private. Arrangements are in the care of the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence St., Methuen.
Donations may be made in his name to Tufts Medicine Care at Home, 847 Rogers St., Suite 201, Lowell, MA 01852.
