Sr. Therese Benoit Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

METHUEN - Sr. Therese Benoit, 88 passed away Friday March 21, 2014 at the Saint Claire Residence of the Presentation of Mary in Methuen, MA. Born in Burlington, VT on February 15, 1926, she was the daughter of Victor and Elydia (Lavigne) Benoit. Sr. Therese was educated in Burlington, VT at St. Anthony's School and received her college education from Rivier College in Nashua, NH. Sr. Therese entered the Sisters of the Presentation on August 25, 1942 in Hudson, NH and professed her vows on February 2, 1945 taking her religious name, Sr. St. Marie Victor and taught in parish schools for 31 years in Maine and Massachusetts. She cared for her sick mother for 9 1/2 years before coming to Methuen in 1996. She was predeceased by her 3 brothers, Gerard, Marcel and Paul, and is survived by 2 nephews, Douglas of New Mexico and Michael of Connecticut. ARRANGEMENTS: Visiting hours will be held on Thursday from 2:00p.m. - 4:00p.m. and 6:00p.m. - 8:00p.m. at the Saint Claire Residence of the Presentation of Mary 209 Lawrence Street Methuen, MA. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 2:30p.m. in the Chapel of the Presentation of Mary with burial in the Prsentation of Mary Cemetery also in Methuen.
