Roy H. Bistany Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Roy H. Bistany, 77 passed away on Sunday, April 17, 2016 at his home surrounded by his loving family. A lifelong resident of Methuen, Roy was the son of the late Fadlallah and Adele Bistany. He was educated in Methuen schools and graduated as President of the Tenney High School class of 1957. After graduation, he enlisted in the Navy. He was stationed on the USS Boston, based in Newport, RI. Upon his discharge from the Navy, Roy attended Merrimack College where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree. Roy was a longtime active member of St. Anthony?s Maronite Church of Lawrence. He was a true Patriots and Red Sox fan, but his first love was spending time with friends and family and attending all of his grandkids? functions. Roy was the beloved husband of Marie (Rheaume) Bistany with whom he shared 53 years of marriage. He was the devoted father of daughters Cheryl Hill of Ipswich, MA, Nancy and her husband Mark Shepherd of Methuen, Stacey and her husband Edward Zraket of Methuen, son Kurt and his wife Cindy Bistany of Methuen. Roy also loved and cherished his 12 grandchildren, aunt Margo Bistany, nephew Chris Concheri and many other nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his 3 sisters, May Concheri, Susan Nicolas and Jane Ditaranto. Family and friends will honor and celebrate Roy?s life by gathering for calling hours at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street, Methuen on Monday, April 18, 2016 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at 10:00 AM at St. Anthony?s Maronite Church in Lawrence, MA. Burial will follow in St. Anthony?s Cemetery in Methuen, MA.
