Roger J. Bonneau Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Methuen ? Roger J. Bonneau, 87 of Methuen, passed away on Friday, January 23, 2015 at the Holy Family Hospital at Merrimack Valley in Haverhill. He was the beloved husband of the late Theresa (Hanna) Bonneau. Born in Lawrence on August 20, 1927, Roger was the son of William and Yvonne (Brunnett) Bonneau. He proudly served his country 21 years in the U.S. Air Force as a technical sergeant in civil engineering during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He was an active member of the Lawrence Lodge of Elks, BPOE #65. After retiring, he worked at Gillette and PSI in Andover. He loved playing cards, especially 45?s and cribbage, and making his famous BBQ sauce. He also loved driving anywhere. He took a part time job as a Meals on Wheels driver, delivering hot meals to senior centers across the Valley, but nothing gave him more pleasure than cruising around in his 1992 Cadillac. Roger will be deeply missed by his 3 daughters, Yvonne ?Bonnie? Sisson and her husband, William of Salem, NH, Kathleen Zagarella Wilmington, and Constance Bonneau of Methuen; 4 granddaughters, Mary and Brittney Zagarella and Ashley and Janelle Bonneau; 6 grandsons, William and Kyle Sisson, Eric and Kristofer Alexa, and Joseph and Brandon Zagarella; 7 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his only son, Alexander Bonneau. Family and friends will honor and celebrate Roger?s life by gathering for calling hours on Wednesday, January 28, 2015 from 4 to 8 PM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street, Methuen. His funeral service will take place on Thursday at 11 AM at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Lawrence. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested, in Roger?s honor, memorial contributions be made to Veterans Northeast Outreach Center, 10 Reed Street, Haverhill, MA 01832.
