Norma Ingrid (Bornemann) Ventre, age 87, of Methuen, MA, passed peacefully surrounded by her children on Sunday, May 30, 2021. She was born on July 24, 1933, in Cartagena, Colombia, where her father worked for Standard Oil. Raised Read Obituary
Susan, your mother amazed me when she taught the learning center at the marsh. She ran around the perimeter of the building every morning with one of her students as he had an abundance of energy. Never saw a teacher take that time before school hours to not only take the student to run but was beside him all the way.

Memory of Mrs Ventre is days working with my friends, Going back to the house for a big bowl of pasta she would always put a smile on our faces and we on hers very special lady she will be missed I am truly sorry
I am truly at a loss for words. Mrs. Ventre was the most influential teacher I had the honor of learning from. Even twenty years later we remained pen pals, something she started while on a trip back in 2000. I thoroughly enjoyed visiting and checking in with Mrs. Ventre every time I returned home. Each time I walked away learning something new. I will truly miss our postcard exchange, coffee catch-ups and the wisdom sprinkled in both. The world lost a light with Mrs. Ventre's passing.
Norma, truly a special lady, had a way of making those around her feel special.
She was genuine, kind and caring.
Norma and I shared may good times as colleagues and as friends. Some of my fondest memories are of our long after school conversations about our students, our children and, of course, our grandchildren.

How sad the day that Norma left this world! I was extremely fortunate to have served on the selection committee of the Methuen Scholarship Foundation with such a special individual! Her voice always resonated with sincerity and a unique form of compassion. She will be remembered by all whose hearts she touched in many ways. My sincere condolences to her wonderful family whom, I am certain, will carry on her mission. My thoughts and prayers are with you now....

Dear Peter, James , Steven, Susan and Mark- our thoughts and prayers to all of you. She was an amazing mom that raised a beautiful family. When we were younger a few of the Hamels spent an afternoon or two with the Ventre family in the Valley. Years later memories of Onway and Forest Lake..teaching swimming with - Peter, Jim and Steve.

My memory of Mrs. Ventre is sitting at her kitchen table while she was mixing and baking tea cakes. I was older than her boys, but I was there to check on my siblings. Mrs. Ventre was kind and always seem to know what to say. I also remember their beautiful German Shepherd dog named Geronimo. I will always remember Mrs.Ventre with admiration and respect. To the whole Ventre family I am truly sorry for your loss. May her memory be a blessing.
Norma was a dear friend for many years when I worked at the Marsh School. We shared many happy times together about school, work and the children she taught. She was an unselfish, kind and thoughtful person who was a great friend. She dedicated her life to helping others and will be greatly missed. May you be in Heaven at His right hand, my friend.
