Karen L. Sullivan Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Karen L. Sullivan, 58 of Methuen, passed away surrounded by her family on January 20, 2017 at Brigham and Woman?s Hospital in Boston. Karen was born March 13, 1958 in Woburn, MA to her loving parents, Anthony and Barbara (Bent) LaMarca of Oldsmar, Florida. Karen was raised in Burlington, MA and she graduated from Burlington High School with the Class of 1976. Four years after graduation Karen married her devoted husband, Thomas, on April 26, 1980 at St. Margaret?s Church. She and her husband settled in Methuen to raise their family. A woman who dabbled in many different occupations while she focused on raising her family. Karen?s selfless outreach touched many people?s lives, she was an active volunteer and advocate for the welfare of her children. From standing on the sidelines at a local Pop Warner football game, guiding the young cheerleaders under tutelage to roaming the halls at Marsh School, Karen brought a smile to anyone. She faced many long and courageous battles with her health for several years, but she persevered to be the best loving Nonni to her grandchildren. In addition to being survived by her parents, Karen is survived by her husband, Thomas P. Sullivan, in which they celebrated 36 years of marriage together. Karen was the devoted mother to her three children; her daughter Shannon M. Ireson and her husband Jeff of Methuen, her son Paul A. Sullivan and his wife Katherine of Londonderry, NH, and her daughter, Meghan A. Sullivan of Haverhill. She was the loving grandmother to Cameron and Grace. Karen is also the cherished sister to Kenneth and Cyndy LaMarca, Paul and Theresa LaMarca, Marie and Carl Jonasson, Gail and Gregg Stallwood and is aunt to many nieces and nephews. The Sullivan family would like to personally thank all the friends and family for the unwavering support during the last few years. Visitation for Karen will be held Wednesday, January 25, 2017 from 4:00-8:00 PM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street, Methuen, MA. Friends and relatives are cordially invited. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Monica?s Parish, 212 Lawrence Street, Methuen, MA on Thursday January 26, 2017 at 11:00 AM Interment to follow at Elmwood Cemetery, 130 North Lowell Street, Methuen, MA.
