Mr. James W Aleksa

James W. Aleksa, 92 of Salem, NH, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 16, 2023. He was the beloved husband of the late Dorothy (Paleno) Aleksa. Jim was born in the Bronx, NYC on March 5, 1931 and was raised in Lawrence, MA. He was the son of the late Jacob and Mary (Brown) Aleksa. He graduated from Lawrence High School, class of 1949. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked as a supervisor and then electronic engineer at Raytheon Company in West Andover for 35 years until his retirement. Spike enjoyed fishing and lobstering with his sons on their boat the “Dottie D,” affectionately named after his late wife. He also had a passion for horse racing and enjoyed several trips to the Kentucky Derby with his lifelong friend, Lew Nagel. Spike was a fan of all the Boston sports teams and was in New Orleans to see the Patriots win their 1st Super Bowl Championship. He especially loved watching his children and grandchildren play sports. Jim will be deeply missed by his 4 children, William Aleksa and his wife, Janice, of Atkinson, NH, Annette Aleksa of Amesbury, MA, Steven Aleksa and his wife, Deborah, of Salisbury, MA, and Jacob Aleksa and his wife, Danielle, of Seabrook, NH; his sister, Janet McMahon, and her husband, James, of Newport, NH; 14 grandchildren, Julie, Kelly, Lauren, James, Allyson, Stacey, Krysten, Cameron, Daniel, Lexi, Gabi, Jake, Madison, and Sam; 6 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and his wife, he is predeceased by his 3 sons, James, Daniel, and Joseph Aleksa and his 2 sisters, Jackie Trull and Joanne Boomhower. Family and friends will honor and celebrate Jim’s life by gathering for his calling hours on Monday, May 22, 2023 from 4 – 7 PM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street, Methuen. His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10:30 AM at St. Matthew Church, 2 Searles Road, Windham, NH. Burial will follow at St. Mary - Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Lawrence.
