Irene H. (Dube) Silva

Irene H. (Dube) Silva, 76, a lifelong resident of Methuen, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at the Nevins Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Irene was born on October 25, 1940 to her hardworking parents, Jerome and Estelle (Nadeau) Dube. A devout Catholic, she attended Mt. Carmel Grammar School and graduated from St. Anne’s High School, with the Class of 1958. She was a communicant of St. Monica’s Parish for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Silva with whom she celebrated 48 years of marriage, until his passing in 2006. Irene was a true social butterfly whose smiling face graced the halls of the Nevins retirement community where she was very active in helping give back to the community. She participated in many charitable walks for the fight against cancer. She touched many lives in many different circles and will be fondly remembered and missed. Irene is survived by her loving son, Keith Silva and his wife Paula of Derry, NH and her three grandchildren; Lauren Dyer and her husband David, Nicholas Silva and his wife Laura, Justin Silva and his wife Krista. She was also a cherished great-grandmother to Samantha Silva, Mayabelle and Beckham Dyer. She is also survived by her nephew, who was a son to her, Phillip Dube and his wife Barbara and their two children, Carissa and Phillip. Irene was a beloved sister to her siblings; her brothers; Raymond Dube of Methuen, Lawrence Dube and his wife Colleen of Derry, NH, Richard Dube of Manchester, NH, Pete Dube and his wife Elaine of Methuen; her sisters; Valentine Morin of R.I, Theresa Desell of Pelham, NH. She was predeceased by six siblings. Visitation for Irene will be held on Monday, September 18, 2017 from 9-10 AM at Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence St., Methuen. Friends and family are cordially invited to attend. A Mass of Christian Burial celebrated on Monday, September 18, 2017 at 11 AM at St. Monica’s Church, 214 Lawrence St., Methuen, MA. Interment to follow at Elmwood Cemetery, 130 N. Lowell St., Methuen, MA. Memorial contributions can be made in Irene’s memory to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
