Francis J. Endyke

Methuen – Francis J. Endyke, 93 of Methuen, passed away on Monday, September 16, 2019 at Lawrence General Hospital. He was the beloved husband of the late Winifred (O’Rourke) Endyke. Born in Lawrence on November 3, 1925, Fran was the son of the late John A. and Mary A. (Gage) Endyke. He graduated from Central Catholic High School and then earned his Bachelor of Science from Northeastern University. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force during World War II. He was employed as a pharmacist for various pharmacies during his career until his retirement. Fran was a member of the Merrimack Valley Stripers Club. He was also a communicant of St. Patrick Parish in Lawrence, where he served as an altar boy in his youth, an usher for over 60 years, and as a head usher. In his free time, he enjoyed doing genealogy, astrology, collecting coins, and going to Foxwoods Casino. His greatest joy was spending time with his family. Fran will be deeply missed by his son, Francis J. Endyke, Jr. and his wife, Barbara, of Berwick, ME; 3 daughters, Susan M. Hutton of Methuen, Karen L. Carmain and her husband, John, of Methuen, and Jean A. Krikorian of Chelmsford; 8 grandchildren, Katie Lee and her husband, Mike, William Hutton, Christopher and Chelsea Carmain, Nicole and Elizabeth Endyke; and Matthew and Celia Krikorian; his great granddaughter, Bridgette Lee; his sister, Louise Karas of Rhode Island; and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by 2 brothers, John and Walter Endyke; his sister, Rita Holak; and 2 sons-in-law, Arthur Hutton and Greg Krikorian. Family and friends will honor and celebrate Fran’s life by gathering for his calling hours on Thursday, September 19, 2019 from 4 – 7 PM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street, Methuen. His Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 9 AM on Friday at St. Patrick Parish, 118 South Broadway in Lawrence. Burial will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in North Andover. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Veterans Northeast Outreach Center, 10 Reed Street, Haverhill, MA 01832.
